Lyn’s story – shared in her words + with her consent

LYN’S STORY: IN HER OWN WORDS + SHARED WITH HER CONSENT

When I met Lyn in March 2025, she had been agoraphobic for around 5 years and barely left her room during that time. 🥺

She was estranged from her family, had survived abusive relationships, was living with complex PTSD after significant grief and loss, experiences life long chronic pain issues, depression and anxiety, had no support outside of her doctor and psychologist, and certainly wasn’t living the life she wanted.

We initially had a video call to discuss her needs and a way forward. She has since told me she had significant anxiety about joining that call and nearly cancelled, but is very glad she went ahead with it. 🫶🏻

We didn’t start with huge goals. We started with tiny wins that felt achievable. Those tiny wins built confidence, and confidence built momentum.

Over time, we developed trust and rapport which she had not previously had with anyone.

Lyn used to love exercise but due to enduring, permanent disabling chronic pain from several injuries and a few other health issues which severely impact her daily living activities, she hadn’t been able to exercise for a long time.

Her first goal was to just start getting out of the house with my support as extreme anxiety had prevented her from doing so.

Within the first couple of weeks, leaving the house became more manageable with support present and for the first time, Lyn had hope that she could focus on small goals. 💫

In April or May we set a goal of walking for 30 minutes by December 2025.

On our very first walk together by the ocean, we ended up walking for 38 minutes which was a huge win. 🚶‍♀️

Before long, those walks turned into manageable hikes through national parks, taking in some of Western Australia’s most beautiful scenery.

Since then we’ve achieved so much together. 💕

She’s completed multiple coaching sessions where we’ve processed the emotions and experiences that had been keeping her stuck, and somewhere along the way we also became craft buddies, making book nooks together during times where her physical and mental health declined and she was too anxiety-ridden to leave the house. 📖

She’s also completed both From Surviving to Thriving and Project Self Worth (my online coaching programs). Watching her confidence, self-love and boundaries grow throughout those programs has been incredible.

She often tells me she finally understands why she ended up in abusive relationships – and, more importantly, how to make sure she never repeats those patterns.

Lyn has come such a long, long way since we met and I’m so proud of her – I know she’s proud of herself too. 🥰

Her doctor and psychologist are so pleased that Lyn has found the right support worker, who she trusts enough to open up to and be able to regulate her emotions more so she can perform activities outside of the home that many of us take for granted, such as attending appointments and doing her shopping.

Lyn still faces many tough times and still requires a lot of support, but this just shows what the right support can achieve.

If you’re stuck and struggling at the moment and need support, drop me a message and let’s chat about how coaching and/or energy work can help.

Much love,
