8 Top tips to protect your energy

We live in a world where we are bombarded by negativity, bad news, and toxic people/environments. 🥺

IF you choose to see it that way.

By focusing on protecting our energy and keeping our vibration high, we can protect ourselves from being drained by the bad juju around us and focus more on the good that is also all around. 🤩

 

Here are my top tips on protecting your energy

  1. BE GROUNDED

Spend time in nature ~ walk, run, barefoot on the beach or grass. 🏝️ 

You can also imagine roots coming out of your base chakra and feet and going deep into the earth to ground you.

Spend as much time outside as you can to get grounded and to soak up the energy of the sunshine. 🌞 

  1. SHIELD YOURSELF 

“Bubble” yourself with white light to protect your energy field – you can also use pink (colour of love) and/or silver which deflects negative energy away from you. 🫧 

Gold is also a high vibration.

I like to imagine a mirrored shield around my bubble to bounce any negativity away from me. 🪞 

  1. CALL IN THE BIG BOYS

I like to call in what I call the big boys – I call in Archangel Michael for protection and grounding especially when doing energy treatments or teaching Reiki. 

  1. KEEP ON TOP OF YOUR ENERGY HYGIENE

Keep on top of your energy field by treating it like energy hygiene – as important as brushing your teeth in the morning. 🪥 

By using energy techniques regularly (e.g. energy treatments, EFT (tapping), self-healing, using salt water to cleanse any negative energy), you keep your vibration high and more protected from bad juju around you.

  1. DECLUTTER THE SHIT FROM YOUR LIFE

Including people, clutter you no longer need in your house/bag/car/office, and toxic environments/situations.

The more you can get rid of whatever isn’t serving you, the more room you leave for stuff that is meant to be in your life. 👋🏼 

  1. STAY AWAY FROM ENERGY VAMPIRES

We all have people in our lives who suck the life out of us. 

You know those people who call you and your heart sinks when you see their name on your phone, because you know you’ll feel drained after speaking to them?

That’s because they are sucking energy out of you and taking it for themselves. 🧛 

We all have cords of energy connecting us with those in our lives, just like energetic umbilical cords. 

Some are a two way street and equal in give and take. 

Some are just going in one direction. ⬇️ 

Try to distance yourself from people who drain you – and if that’s not possible, try crossing your ankles and/or wrists when talking to them as it cuts off your energy, also try the bubbling technique above.

  1. SET HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

Are there people in your life you need to set better boundaries with? ✋🏼 

Start letting people know what you need and want, and also let them know when they are acting in a way that doesn’t work for you. 

  1. ACCEPT OR RELEASE WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL

If there are people or situations in your life creating tension for you, something needs to shift – either focus on changing the situation, or changing how you view it.

Let go, or be dragged.
