Why your life tastes like sh*t without self-love

 

Ever tried following a recipe but forgot the main ingredient? 🧑‍🍳 

Like making banana bread without bananas? Or sangria without wine? (aka fruit salad…why even bother!).

Well, that’s exactly what most people are doing with their lives. They’re trying to “be happy”  without the key ingredient: self-love.

And the result? 

A hot mess that tastes like burnt toast and regret. 🥵 

MY RECEIPE FOR A FULFILLED LIFE

Let’s break it down, MasterChef style:

Ingredients:

🥰 2 cups of self-love (non-negotiable)
✋🏼 A handful of healthy boundaries
🤗 A sprinkle of courage to say “no” without a 3-hour PowerPoint presentation
😍 A pinch of authentic connections (not the fake Insta kind)
✍🏻 Optional: a side of therapy, journaling, or screaming into a pillow

 

Method:

  1. Preheat your life with a little awareness (e.g. stop pretending everything’s fine while you cry in the work bathroom). 
  2. Add self-love first. This is your base, your flour, your bloody glue. Without it, nothing sticks. 
  3. Fold in boundaries gently but firmly (like telling your toxic ex to jog on). 
  4. Season with joy, rest, and the occasional Netflix binge
    because you want to, not because you’re avoiding your feelings. 
  5. Bake until your life smells like freedom and tastes like peace. 

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FORGET TO ADD SELF-LOVE

Here’s what your dish looks like if you forget the main ingredient:

😩 You become a people-pleasing soufflé that collapses under the weight of everyone else’s expectations.

🫣 Your boundaries are flimsier than a cheap cling wrap that doesn’t actually cling.

🥺 Your relationships taste bitter, because you keep serving up scraps hoping someone will finally serve you a main course.

😖 You stay in a job you hate because you’re convinced you don’t deserve better. (Congrats, you just made burnt corporate lasagne.)

🥵 And eventually, you burn out faster than toast left under the grill.

 

Life without self-love is like a margarita without tequila. Pointless.

Self-love isn’t all fluffy bubble baths and scented candles (although, yum). 🛁 

It’s the backbone of everything: your relationships, your career, your health, your actual sanity.

So, if your current recipe tastes like shit, maybe it’s time to rewrite it. 

Start by adding back the main ingredient. Double it. Triple it. DROWN IN IT. 

Because when you finally serve yourself a dish made with self-love, it won’t just fill you up – it’ll nourish every fking part of your life. 🤩
