We spend so much time talking about red flags – the toxic partners, the burnout, the emotional fckery – that it can be easy to miss the good stuff. 🚩
But when you’re actually doing the work on yourself (and not just “reading one self-help book and crossing your fingers hoping for the best”), there are little green shoots that pop up to show you: hey legend, you’re healing. 🌱
Here are some green flags that show you’re not the same burnt-out, people-pleasing hot mess you once were:
🌀 You pause before reacting
Instead of instantly losing your shit or spiralling into old patterns, you take a breath. You might still feel triggered, but you notice it, name it, and choose how you respond. That’s growth.
✋🏼 You say “no” without a 3-hour apology
Remember when saying “no” came with a TED Talk full of excuses? Now you can say it, full stop, without feeling the need to justify yourself – and move on with your day. Boundaries are sexy.
👆🏼Your coping mechanisms have levelled up
You’re not pouring a bottle of Shiraz into your gob or maxing out Afterpay every time you feel sad. Instead, you’re journaling, walking, EFT tapping, doing breathwork, or even just having a nap. Mahoosive win.
🥰 Your relationships feel lighter
You’re no longer the emotional skip bin for everyone else’s drama. You’ve stopped trying to fix and rescue people, and you’re actually attracting healthier connections. It feels weird at first… in a good way.
🥳 You celebrate small wins
Healing isn’t always fireworks – it’s often in the little things. Like getting out of bed without hating yourself, or saying kind things to your reflection. Those tiny victories matter.
🥎 You bounce back quicker
You still have hard days (we all do), but instead of staying stuck in the pit for weeks, you use your tools, pick yourself up, and carry on. Resilience is your new superpower.
😍 You actually like (or even love!) who you are
This one’s huge. You’ve started seeing yourself as worthy, lovable, and more than enough. And when that inner critic pipes up, you don’t let it run the show anymore.
🔍 You’ve become an observer of your reality
This is my fave. When you can actually view your life from an observer’s stance instead of being caught up in the emotion of it all, it’s much easier to pause, reflect and respond (if needed) instead of reacting.
Healing isn’t about becoming perfect.
It’s about slowly, steadily, building a life that feels lighter, freer, and more aligned with who you really are. 🤩
So if you’re seeing some of these green flags – give yourself a high-five, because you’re doing the work and it’s paying off.
