Don’t be afraid to change direction



Have you ever found yourself in something you thought you wanted for a long time, but when you were in it, you realised it wasn’t for you? 🤔 


This might be a job, education, relationship, place that you’ve moved to… anything really.


Even if you’ve been in your relationship for years, what are you costing the rest of your life by staying in it if you’re unhappy? 🥹


Even if you don’t want to let your colleagues down at work, what’s it costing you to spend 40+ hours a week doing something you don’t like? 😢


Even if you started that degree you thought you wanted to do, is it worth sticking with it if you realise you want to study something else?


When I left London, I originally moved to Sydney. 🌊 


In my first month of being in Australia I went to Perth for the weekend and realised I’d moved to the wrong side of the country when I fell in love with Perth. 


It wasn’t easy to decide 3 months in to living in Sydney where I’d just started working in a new job to decide to start over again in Perth, but it’s one of the best changes I’ve made for my life.


Just because you’ve started something, doesn’t mean we need to finish it if you realise it’s not the right path for you. 


No experience is wasted. 


Give yourself permission to change course; write out a pro’s and con’s list for yourself and tune into what your gut feeling is telling you. 


Even better, do a cost-benefit analysis;


❔what’s it costing you to keep doing the thing you’re doing?

💫 what’s the benefits of staying where you are?

❔ what are the potential costs of you make the change you’re thinking of?

💫 what are the potential benefits of you making the change?


For every change I’ve made in work, relationships, moving country, in my business… they’ve all worked out.

Trust yourself, you’ve got this.


Life is too short to stay too long in something that makes you unhappy in life, especially if it’s affecting other areas too, like your health or family life.
