We’re taught to fear our breakdowns.
To see every crack as a flaw. Every emotional collapse as failure.
But what if the breakdown isn’t the end… what if it’s the beginning?
I was in a workshop years ago where a psychologist spoke about Post Traumatic Growth – and showed an image of a shattered bowl repaired with gold, called Kintsukuroi.
It’s the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold or silver lacquer, not to hide the damage, but to highlight it.
Because the piece is more beautiful for having been broken. 💝
In the personal development world, we’re so obsessed with “fixing” ourselves – with healing faster, levelling up, manifesting better, being high-vibe AF – that we forget there’s beauty in the mess.
Growth doesn’t always look like morning routines and vision boards.
Sometimes it looks like ugly crying on the shower floor, feeling raw as fck and still getting up again. 🤯
When life cracks you open, it’s not punishment. It’s your opportunity to embrace growth.
Those raw, messy, “WTF is happening” moments are often where your greatest expansion happens.
They strip away the noise, the masks, the pretending, and force you to meet the real you underneath it all.
So if you’re in the thick of it right now, stop trying to fix yourself. ✋🏼
You’re not a broken appliance, babe.
You’re being reforged.
Sit with it.
Let it be ugly.
Let it be messy.
Let it be quiet.
Let it be.
Because every time you think, “why the f*ck is this happening to me?” 😩
Life is whispering, “so you can see how strong, wise, and breathtakingly resilient you really are.
✨ You are the gold. ✨
